Human mononuclear cells, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
Cells
Human mononuclear cells are isolated from IRB-consented volunteer donors diagnosed with HIV or AIDS.

  • Cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS10 media

Mononuclear cells used for researching the causes, diagnosis, supportive care and treatment of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).There is currently no cure for HIV or AIDS; however, with proper treatment we are able to keep the level of HIV virus in the body low. Patient samples can be used by researchers to investigate biomarker and diagnostic development, pre-clinical research validation, and drug toxicity and efficacy.

Storage: Either prepare cells for long term storage in liquid nitrogen vapour phase or thaw for use. Storage in liquid phase nitrogen is NOT recommended. Short term storage of cells (less than 2 weeks) at –80°C is acceptable, but should be minimised to ensure maximum stability. Once thawed, samples must be used immediately.

Caution: Intended for research use only and not for direct therapeutic or diagnostic use in human or animals, or for further manufacturing of therapeutic products or devices.
