VWR services include custom manufacturing and support of research and laboratory operations.
Since 1985 VWR has continued to grow and added many talented individuals and successful organizations to our story over the years. Here is a brief look back at the events that have shaped our rich history:

Jencons-PLS was acquired by VWR International in April 2008. Jencons‘ expertise was originally in glassblowing and the supply of basic laboratory ware. However, the company rapidly expanded, gaining a worldwide reputation as a producer of liquid handling products and growing to be one of the UK’s largest independent providers of laboratory consumables and general lab supplies. Today, the sales team now effectively operates as the Capital Equipment Specialist team within VWR UK bringing many years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to the organisation.

Lab3 Ltd was acquired by VWR in 2012, and was a major force in the Scientific & Laboratory equipment market, with a reputation for quality and a high level of customer care. This acquisition enabled VWR to expand its servicing division significantly, increasing UK coverage, accreditation and in-house technical knowledge. As the new brand for VWR’s servicing and calibration division Lab3 VWR Technical Services can offer tailor made maintenance agreements with a choice of service and calibration intervals for a huge range of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

In 2013, Basan became the cleanroom division of VWR International. Basan has been a reliable supplier of cleanroom products, services and expertise for more than 30 years. The acquisition of Basan enabled VWR to supply an extensive product portfolio and services for cleanrooms and critical environments. With this came a team of highly skilled specialists and a high level of flexibility for custom-made solutions.

In February 2014, VWR acquired Peqlab. Peqlab develops, manufactures and supplies molecular and cell biology reagents, consumables and instruments to support the education, research, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. The addition of Peqlab further enhances VWR's product portfolio in this industry.

In May 2015, VWR acquired Hichrom Limited, a globally recognised UK manufacturer of high quality HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) and UHPLC (Ultra-High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) columns for the scientific community.

As a leading chromatography manufacturer Hichrom has an unrivalled reputation for excellent quality, competitively priced products, fast delivery – backed up with expert technical support and after-sales service . Hichrom supplies products globally to laboratories in over 100 countries.

In January 2016, VWR acquired Therapak, a global supplier of pre-packaged convenience kits and procedure packs for the clinical trial, pharmaceutical, diagnostics and clinical laboratory markets. Therapak's services include: standard and custom component and kit outsourcing; moderate to complex assembly; process control and serial labeling; packaging of courier, medical, diagnostic and pharmaceutical products in a variety of temperature sensitive materials; DOT and IATA certification testing of specimen shipping systems; temperature validation of cold chain products.
